This shift was made clear when Droupadi Murmu, the president of India, addressed herself as “President of Bharat” rather than the traditional “President of the Republic of India” in an official dinner invitation to G20 leaders.
This prospective name will likely be discussed during a Special Session of Parliament. The name change appears to have been made in order to distinguish the nation from the INDIA political coalition.
