According to sources in the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum, India’s Border Security Force (BSF) has detained a Pakistani fisherman and his boat close to the Arabian Sea’s maritime border.

Rasool Bakhsh has been recognized as the fisherman who was arrested. He is from the hamlet of Rajan Tahmoor, which is in the Sujawal region of Sindh’s Tehsil Shahbandar, Chhachh Jhan Khan.

According to the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum, the incident most likely happened when the fisherman accidentally crossed the unmarked maritime boundary while on a regular fishing trip. This is a common occurrence because there isn’t a distinct demarcation in the water between India and Pakistan.

The Forum further disclosed that 35 fishermen from the districts of Sujawal and Thatta are currently detained in Indian jails on comparable maritime trespassing accusations.
