Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, has outlined two key conditions that must be fulfilled before Tehran agrees to hold negotiations with the United States in Islamabad.
In a statement shared on X, Ghalibaf said that Israel must first withdraw from Lebanon and that Iran’s frozen financial assets must be released. He emphasized that these demands are non-negotiable and should be implemented before any formal talks can begin.
His remarks come at a time when Pakistan is preparing to host important US-Iran discussions in Islamabad. The talks are aimed at stabilizing an already fragile ceasefire situation in the region.
Analysts believe Iran is entering the negotiations from a position of strength, which could influence the pace and outcome of any potential agreement.
