Iran has issued a stern warning that it will target regional military bases of any country that attempts to assist Israel during the ongoing conflict. Speaking to a U.S. broadcaster, a senior Iranian official declared that Tehran reserves the right under international law to respond decisively against what it calls the “Zionist regime.”

The unnamed official told CNN that “any country that attempts to defend the regime against Iran’s operations will, in turn, see its regional bases and positions become new targets.” This warning follows Iran’s retaliatory strikes in response to Israeli attacks on Iranian military, nuclear, and residential facilities. Tehran claims the Israeli strikes resulted in the deaths of high-ranking commanders and nuclear scientists.

The Iranian official emphasized that the response will intensify in the coming days, citing Israeli actions as a blatant violation of international norms. “Iran will escalate its retaliatory strikes against the Zionist regime,” the source said, indicating a prolonged confrontation may be underway.

On Friday night, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a large-scale missile attack on Israel under Operation True Promise III. According to the IRGC, the ballistic missile barrage was carried out under direct orders from Iran’s Supreme Leader and in accordance with the will of the Iranian people. The IRGC claimed that hundreds of missiles penetrated Israel’s multi-layered air defense systems and struck pre-determined targets. While independent confirmation of the strike’s impact is still pending, it marks one of the most direct and significant escalations in Iran-Israel tensions.

The situation in the Middle East remains extremely volatile. Iran’s warning has alarmed regional governments and Western allies with military installations across the region. With the potential for broader involvement now in focus, global powers are closely monitoring Tehran’s next moves and the possibility of the conflict spreading beyond Israel and Iran.
