September 6, known as National Defence Day in Pakistan, is creating a lot of discussion on social media about whether it will be a public holiday this year.

Traditionally, this day, which falls on a Friday this year, honors Pakistan’s military achievements, particularly its defense efforts during the 1965 war with India.

According to the Federal Cabinet Division’s notification about the Public Holidays in Pakistan September 6 for this year, September 6 will not officially be a public holiday in Pakistan.

However, there is a probability that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif might announce it as a public holiday, similar to how a holiday was announced earlier this year on May 28 for Youm-e-Takbeer.

On the other hand, Pakistan will have a national holiday for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) on the 12th of Rabiul Awwal to honor the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
