Ishaq Dar to Meet IMF Delegation in Geneva
ISLAMABAD, January 09, 2023- Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will meet a delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Geneva.
The International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan will be co-hosted in Geneva by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The MD once more conveyed her sorrow to those who were directly impacted by the flooding and backed Pakistan’s efforts to create a more robust recovery.

The spokeswoman stated, “The IMF delegation is anticipated to meet with Finance Minister Dar on the fringes of the Geneva summit to discuss unresolved concerns and the way forward.”A group from the IMF is expected to visit Pakistan in two to three days to complete the ninth review of Pakistan’s $7 billion Extended Fund Facility, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday (EFF). On July 3, 2019, the Executive Board approved the EFF for SDR 4,268 million (about $6 billion at the time of approval).

The IMF Board approved an extension of the EFF until end-June 2023, rephasing and augmentation of access by SDR 720 million, which will bring the total access under the EFF to approximately $6.5 billion, in order to support program implementation, meet the higher financing needs in FY23, as well as catalyze additional financing.
