Islamabad Police have formally responded to a request from mosque administrations in the federal capital seeking stronger security arrangements.

In their written reply, police directed that at least one armed security guard must be present at mosques during prayer times. The guard will be allowed to carry a weapon within the mosque premises as part of the security protocol.

Authorities have also ordered that no parking be permitted at mosque entry or exit points, or in nearby areas. In addition, mosques and imambargahs have been instructed to operate with a single designated entry and exit route for worshippers to ensure better monitoring.

The directive further bans street vendors, beggars, and the sale of caps or other items outside the main gates of mosques.

Mosque administrations have also been told to immediately inform police about any suspicious individuals, activities, or unattended items within mosque premises.

The notice emphasizes that all instructions must be implemented without delay, warning that legal action will be taken against administrations that fail to comply
