In reaction to the growing danger of dengue in Islamabad, the district administration has launched a citywide campaign targeting business centers, industries, and construction sites. According to an Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration representative, strict instructions have been issued to provide observation with anti-dengue protocols, with multiple arrests made for violations.

The authorities have warned business centers, industrial areas, and the construction sector to stop dengue breeding sites to prevent the spread of the virus.
The ICT administration has sent a letter to business bodies like the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), the Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries, and the Islamabad Industrial Association. This letter highlights the urgent need to implement dengue prevention measures across all workplaces. The administration underlined the importance of eliminating stagnant water, a known breeding ground for dengue-carrying mosquitoes. Businesses were especially advised to check refrigerator trays, air coolers, and air conditioning units for standing water.
Workers were also instructed to take personal precautions, such as wearing long-sleeved clothes and using mosquito repellents, to reduce the risk of dengue. As part of the crackdown, the district administration has already arrested 16 individuals for not following anti-dengue regulations. Assistant commissioners have coached raids across the city, targeting construction sites, educational institutions, and warehouses where dengue larvae were discovered.
In Pothohar, the Assistant Commissioner arrested six individuals in Sector I-11 for failing to follow dengue prevention guidelines, while four more were arrested by the AC Nillore. Another five were arrested in the Industrial Area I-9, and one individual was arrested in Sector G-8.
Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon recommended that all assistant commissioners heighten efforts in their areas, warning that further violations of anti-dengue protocols would lead to severe punishments. Special attention is being given to known dengue hotspots across Islamabad. A recent inspection of a Mini Golf Club in a private housing society found dengue larvae in worn-out tires and air coolers. The DC ordered detailed inspections of similar sites and urged strict action against violators.
The Islamabad anti-dengue campaign aims to prevent the spread of dengue by focusing on destroying breeding sites. Businesses and residents are encouraged to cooperate fully in the campaign by addressing potential mosquito breeding spots and strictly following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The administration hopes to restrain the rising number of dengue cases in the city and ensure public health safety.
In addition to the crackdown, health officials are also educating the public on the dangers of dengue and how they can protect themselves. Residents are being advised to keep their surroundings clean, regularly check water tanks, and avoid leaving any water uncovered. These preventive actions are essential to dengue prevention in Islamabad.
