Acting on the directives of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, a high-level joint meeting of the Islamabad district administration and Islamabad Police was convened to review and further strengthen the law and order situation in the federal capital.

The meeting was co-chaired by Islamabad Chief Commissioner and CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa and Inspector General of Islamabad Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, with senior officials from both the administration and police in attendance.

During the session, officials focused on enhancing divisional-level security arrangements across the city. Chief Commissioner Randhawa announced that, in line with the Interior Minister’s instructions, a comprehensive security plan would be implemented within seven days to further elevate Islamabad’s safety standards.

Inspector General Rizvi briefed participants on measures to reinforce surveillance at all entry and exit points of the capital. He revealed that a modern monitoring system is being developed to closely track traffic flow and public movement citywide.

The meeting reviewed ongoing efforts to curb crime and maintain law and order. Authorities confirmed that Islamabad’s Safe City system has been upgraded with advanced technology to enhance real-time monitoring and response capabilities.

Modern surveillance tools and Safe City cameras are actively monitoring major highways, commercial hubs, and residential sectors. These systems are also playing a critical role in timely action against terrorism and criminal activities.

Security has been further tightened in sensitive areas, including the Diplomatic Enclave and Red Zone.

Participants unanimously agreed to enforce a zero-tolerance policy against criminal elements, emphasizing that no compromises would be made in ensuring public safety.

Strict monitoring of individuals involved in suspicious activities will continue, supported by comprehensive data collection and intelligence coordination. Authorities also reported that door-to-door surveys in urban areas have been completed, while surveys in rural areas are nearing completion.

Chairman CDA directed officials to increase patrolling across the city, particularly at entry and exit points, and to maximize the use of modern CCTV surveillance systems.

Chief Commissioner Randhawa reaffirmed that coordination among all relevant institutions will be further strengthened. He stressed that all available resources and modern technology will be fully utilized to protect the lives, property, and dignity of Islamabad’s residents — at all costs.

The renewed commitment reflects the government’s determination to make Islamabad a secure and crime-free capital.
