Islamabad United continued their flawless run in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 with an emphatic victory over Multan Sultans, cementing their position at the top of the standings. The match, played at the Multan Cricket Stadium, saw United chase down a target of 169 with remarkable ease, reaching the total in just 17.1 overs.

Batting first, Multan Sultans posted 168 runs, thanks to a solid opening stand. Usman Khan starred with the bat, scoring a fluent 61 off 40 deliveries, supported by skipper Mohammad Rizwan who contributed 36 from 37 balls. Despite building a steady platform with a 65-run partnership, Multan failed to capitalize in the latter stages of their innings. Islamabad United’s bowling attack, led by Mohammad Nawaz and Jason Holder, kept the scoring in check with crucial breakthroughs at key moments.

In response, Islamabad United’s top order dominated from the outset. Sahibzada Farhan gave the innings a flying start with a quick 22, while Colin Munro added a brisk 45. The standout performance came from USA’s Andries Gous, who remained unbeaten on 80 from just 45 balls. His innings, which included six boundaries and five sixes, guided United to a comfortable win. With this result, Islamabad United maintained their perfect record, winning all five of their matches so far in the tournament.

The latest PSL 2025 standings reflect Islamabad United’s dominance, sitting at the top with 10 points and an impressive net run rate of 2.342. Karachi Kings follow in second place with 6 points, while Lahore Qalandars hold third spot with 4 points. Multan Sultans, after yet another loss, find themselves at the bottom with just one win from five games and a negative net run rate of -1.764.

Islamabad United’s commanding performance has all but secured their place in the playoffs, while Multan Sultans face a challenging road ahead if they are to remain in contention. The PSL 2025 action continues with an upcoming clash between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi, a crucial fixture for both teams in the race for the top four.
