Islamabad-Lahore Expressway Closed by NHMP for Repair
ISLAMABAD, September 27, 2022- The management has closed Islamabad-Lahore Expressway by NHMP for repair.

According to a recent notification from the National Highway and Highway Police, the M2 motorway has been closed at Thokar Niaz Baig due to construction (NHMP). Traffic has been rerouted northward along the M-2 motorway between Thokar Niaz Baig Loop and NHA Office, according to NHMP. The National Highway Authority (NHA), which was severely harmed by the monsoon floods, is currently repairing the route.

The NHMP has set up a detour close to Thokar Niaz Baig, according to an official Tweet. From there, the cops are now directing traffic in a different direction. Senator Kamil Ali Agha contends that the agency needs to give priority to road rehabilitation when allocating the proceeds from the toll tax. The M2 has gotten so awful, he said, that using it now is dangerous.

Senator Saifullah Abro also lamented the increase in highway tolls from Rs. 160 to more than Rs. 1,000. He claimed that the increase had made using motorways more difficult.
