Islamabad, Pakistan – In a major step towards enhancing tourism and recreational infrastructure, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art Adventure City Park in Islamabad. The initiative aims to position the capital as a premier destination for both local and international tourists.

Top Officials Discuss Strategy for New Tourism Landmark

The decision was discussed during a high-level meeting held at CDA Headquarters on Friday. The session was chaired by Federal Secretary Interior Muhammad Khurram Agha, and attended by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, along with members of the Environment division and other senior officials.

According to CDA, the proposed Adventure City Park will be developed at a strategic location in Islamabad and is expected to become one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions.

Eco-Friendly Development with Modern Amenities

The park will offer a wide range of recreational features including walkways, cycling tracks, and comprehensive environmental infrastructure. Emphasis will be placed on eco-friendly landscaping, soft beautification, and the plantation of indigenous trees to preserve the city’s green environment.

CDA Chairman Randhawa highlighted the need for a world-class tourism model that includes not just entertainment, but also national and international food chains, cultural exhibits, social services, and a hub of tourism-related activities — all in one destination.

Focus on Environmental Sustainability and Viability

In a push for environmental sustainability, Randhawa stressed the importance of installing a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) alongside the Adventure City Park. He also directed that the financial and operational models of the project should be designed to ensure long-term viability and efficiency.

Islamabad’s Growing Tourism Potential

The CDA reaffirmed its commitment to utilizing all available resources to boost Islamabad’s tourism sector. With a strong focus on enhancing public spaces and modernizing recreational zones, the authority believes the Adventure City will play a pivotal role in transforming the capital into a global tourist hotspot.
