Islamabad’s Bhara Kahu Bypass is Now Open for Traffic
The long-awaited Bhara Kahu bypass has finally been opened for traffic, which is encouraging news for visitors to Murree and neighbouring hill areas. Yesterday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif officially opened the route, which would help with traffic in and out of Murree, Galyat, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Beginning on Murree route in Malpur and ending on Murree Road close to the Jugi bus stop, the 5.6-kilometer route (with a one-kilometer flyover) runs the length of Malpur. The project to build a 1,350-meter overhead bridge cost approximately Rs. 6 billion and took nine months to complete.

To improve the ecology and beautify the area, the civic organisation intends to plant 50,000 trees along the Bhara Kahu bypass. A total of 25,000 trees will be planted during the monsoon season and another 25,000 trees will be planted in the spring next year.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman Noor-ul-Amin Mengal recently praised the department’s efforts to guarantee the project’s prompt completion in a tweet. He stated:
The project presented extremely challenging working conditions in addition to managing extremely significant traffic to Kashmir and the north. Bravo, CDA and NLC team.
