In an effort to update the city’s infrastructure, the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) has chosen to digitize the federal capital’s public parking rates.
According to specifics, in an effort to update how people pay for parking, officials plan to establish a parking management information system.
Fintech companies and other technology solution providers are invited to submit expressions of interest to the DMA department. The project’s initial phase will concentrate on some of Islamabad’s most well-known locations, such as F-9 Park, Lake View, and the Centaurus Parking structure.
Additionally, this program will digitize Kohsar Market parking and G-9 Public Transportation. Additionally, the parking costs for the two F-7 plazas will be digitalized.

An MCI official provided information regarding the parking management system, stating that a public-private partnership will be used to develop it. Based on a revenue-sharing concept, a private company will install the entire system.
The representative stated that there would be no rise in parking prices; hence, bike and auto parking will continue to be charged at the current MCI-set rates of Rs. 30 and Rs. 50, respectively.
Other parts of the city will be digitalized in the following phase. In order to collect the F-9 parking fee, DMA also launched an auction, but no company showed interest in participating.
