Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, met with Ethan Sun, the CEO of Huawei Pakistan, on Thursday. They discussed skills development, IT and communications infrastructure, and digitization.

The minister stated that the government is taking digital skills initiatives to advance information and communications technology (ICT). The youth are receiving IT training in accordance with the prime minister’s goal. In this Huawei digital education partnership, Huawei will provide government officials with training and assist educators and students in schools, colleges, and institutions in acquiring digital skills.
She requested Huawei’s assistance in setting up a one-stop shop for citizens to receive quick services and register businesses. The minister stressed that the safety of Chinese workers in Pakistan is given particular attention as per the prime minister’s directives. She also asked Huawei to assist Pakistan in creating safe cities. They also discussed launching an intelligent healthcare initiative for residents of rural places, particularly AJK.
Huawei, according to Sun, is dedicated to assisting Pakistan’s ICT and digital economic development.
