IT Ministry Plans to Bring 5G to Pakistan by 2023
Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications plans to implement 5G by 2023. The 5G plan of the ministry is based on the fact that the telecom industry has risen to $16.9 billion after collecting $1.2 billion in international investments over the past three years.

The ministry presented this idea with Prime Minister Imran Khan while discussing the performance of the telecom sector in depth. Ultimately, this will also help Pakistan satisfy the requirements for establishing 5G and other technologies of the future generation.
During the period between 2018 and 2022, more than 10,000 kilometers of fiber optic cables will be deployed across the country to deliver high-speed internet to more than 1,175 cities and union councils.

In addition, the USF projects have covered nearly 1,800 kilometers of Balochistan’s unserved road network, including highways and motorways.
Minister for IT and Telecom Syed Amin ul Haq stated that the government is working hard to enhance the export of IT services by up to $5 billion by the end of the fiscal year 2022-23.
