Jazz has announced plans to invest $1 billion over the next three years to strengthen its network and digital infrastructure, supporting the gradual rollout of 5G services and meeting Pakistan’s growing demand for mobile data and digital connectivity.
The investment will focus on expanding network capacity, upgrading infrastructure, and improving service quality as Pakistan’s digital ecosystem continues to grow. With mobile connectivity now supporting services such as digital payments, online shopping, cloud platforms, and digital entertainment, continued investment in telecom infrastructure is seen as essential for the country’s digital progress.
According to Jazz, the investment reflects the company’s long-term commitment to improving connectivity in Pakistan while preparing its network for next-generation technologies.
Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of JazzWorld, said Pakistan’s digital future depends on a strong and reliable connectivity infrastructure. He added that the investment will help support the rollout of 5G services, strengthen the network, and expand reliable connectivity to millions of people across the country.
Industry estimates show that about 40 percent of mobile subscribers in Pakistan still do not have access to 4G services, while nearly a quarter of the population remains outside mobile broadband coverage. This highlights the large connectivity gap and the need for continued development of telecom infrastructure.
Mobile connectivity has become a key part of Pakistan’s digital economy, enabling financial services, e-commerce, freelancing, online education, and business solutions. Improving telecom infrastructure is therefore considered an important step in the country’s broader digital transformation.
Jazz recently secured 190 MHz of additional spectrum in Pakistan’s latest spectrum auction across four new frequency bands, increasing its total spectrum holdings to more than 284 MHz. This additional capacity will support the planned infrastructure investment and help the company begin a phased rollout of 5G while expanding network coverage and performance nationwide.
Industry analysts say continued investment by telecom companies will be essential to support Pakistan’s next phase of digital development as the country moves toward adopting 5G technology.
Jazz stated that the investment aims to build a stronger digital infrastructure base capable of supporting Pakistan’s growing connectivity needs and improving access to reliable mobile broadband services across the country.
