JS Bank has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Beaconhouse National University to establish a dedicated Chair in Sustainability and Fintech, marking an important step toward promoting sustainable finance and digital innovation in Pakistan.
The agreement reflects a shared vision between the two institutions to strengthen research, education, and policy dialogue in areas related to sustainability, climate resilience, and financial technology. Through this partnership, JS Bank will fund the Chair, which will act as a center for research, innovation, and thought leadership in sustainability and fintech.
The Sustainability and Fintech Chair will focus on research and development, policy advocacy, green leadership initiatives, and educational workshops and training programs. The initiative aims to support new ideas, practical solutions, and skilled talent that can contribute to a more sustainable and technology-driven financial ecosystem in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Basir Shamsie, President and Chief Executive Officer of JS Bank Limited, said the bank has always focused on sustainability and innovation. He added that the partnership with BNU is intended to encourage research and sustainable practices that can help build a greener future for Pakistan.
Dr. Moeed Yusuf, Vice-Chancellor of Beaconhouse National University, welcomed the collaboration and said the initiative aligns with the university’s mission of promoting knowledge, research, and positive social impact.
