K-Electric (KE) has appointed Adeeb Ahmad as its Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO), replacing Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi, with immediate effect. The decision was made during a meeting of the company’s board of directors held on February 13, 2026, and follows an earlier announcement submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on February 6, 2026.
The development comes a week after Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi stepped down from his position, as disclosed in a material information filing to the regulator.
Adeeb Ahmad brings more than 34 years of professional experience, including multiple C-suite leadership roles. His career includes managing private equity funds, leading mergers and acquisitions, and driving transformation initiatives across the energy and infrastructure sectors in the MENA region, Turkey, CIS, Southeast Asia, and Pakistan.
He has worked closely with investment banking institutions in the GCC and Pakistan, where he led several major M&A, privatization, and capital-raising transactions. Most recently, he served as the CEO of Hascol Petroleum Limited.
In addition, Ahmad has held senior advisory roles internationally, including serving as Senior Advisor to the CEO and Deputy CEO-Designate at the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) in Saudi Arabia. He holds a Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics (LSE), UK, and an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi.
