K2 Base Camp Area Gets Internet, Phone Coverage
Islamabad: K2 Base Camp recently received internet facilities and telephone signals after installing a 4G Base Transceiver Station (BTS) in Gilgit-Baltistan – the service was commissioned by the Special Communication Organization (SCO), according to news sources. I’m here.

This is seen as an important development as it allows climbers and trekking groups to stay connected to their families and call for help in an emergency.
The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) and telecom operators are working to improve telecommunications services in areas with high tourism potential, and the development is expected to help facilitate weather monitoring and adventure travel as well.

A 4G BTS was installed at Concordia and renamed Ali Sadpara in memory of the missing climber. The project is part of the Gilgit-Baltistan development package launched by the current government, and 4G BTS was launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan himself.
