Karakoram Highway Restored for One Way Traffic
From Khunjerab Pass to Hasan Abdal, Punjab, on the Karakoram (KK) Highway, one-way travel is once again possible. Locals and visitors were trapped as landslides blocked the route at Raikot, Sumer Nallah, and other spots.
Workers from the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) cleared a path through Shahre-Baltistan, allowing vehicles to once again travel between Gilgit and Skardu. The path in Khunjerab, close to Dhee, has also been cleared.
Radio Pakistan reported that the road between Naran and Babusar was also accessible again. The authorities are making an effort to guarantee that all visitors and residents can return home without incident.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a severe weather alert for the next monsoon season. In order to prevent any problems, the department demanded that all tourists cancel their trips.
