Korean Firms Interested in Expanding Investment in Pakistan
According to news sources, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Suh Sang-Pyo stated in Islamabad that Korean enterprises are pleased with Pakistan’s economic growth and are interested in expanding partnership in hydropower projects and other areas.

The ambassador met with Shaukat Tarin, the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, who briefed him on recent developments in the industrial sector and government attempts to support businesses in various areas.
Ambassador Sang-Pyo was informed by the finance minister on the government’s recent comprehensive steps to stimulate industrialisation, particularly in the automobile manufacturing and information technology industries. In addition, he informed him on the government’s short-, medium-, and long-term growth strategies for major industries.

Tarin continued by stating that the ultimate objective of the country’s industrialisation and foreign direct investment (FDI) is the creation of jobs, effective resource mobilization, and industrial advancement. He invited Samsung, a Korean mobile phone manufacturer, to Pakistan.
