The Excise and Taxation Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has completed the auction of 11 high-demand vehicle number plates in Peshawar, generating a total revenue of Rs. 5.81 crore.
The highest bid of the auction was recorded for the number plate Wazir-1, which was sold for Rs. 1.5 crore. Afridi-1 fetched Rs. 1.40 crore, while Khan-1 was sold for Rs. 1.11 crore. The plate Peshawar-1 attracted a bid of Rs. 1 crore.
Among the remaining plates, Haripur-1 was sold for Rs. 80 lakh, Yusufzai-1 for Rs. 49 lakh, and Durrani-1 for Rs. 16.6 lakh. Swabi-1 and Malakand-1 were auctioned for Rs. 12 lakh each, DI Khan-1 for Rs. 11 lakh, and Gandapur-1 for Rs. 10.8 lakh.
The base price for all number plates had been fixed at Rs. 10 lakh. Officials from the Excise and Taxation Department clarified that two number plates linked to former Prime Minister Imran Khan — “Imran Khan-1” and “Imran Khan-804” — were not included in this auction round.
