The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise Department raised Rs. 47.03 crore by auctioning 30 premium “choice” number plates during a bidding event held in Peshawar.
According to official figures, the highest bid was recorded for “Dawar 1,” which was sold for Rs. 17.50 crore. “Orakzai 1” secured the second-highest bid at Rs. 4.10 crore, followed closely by “Waziristan 1,” which fetched Rs. 4.06 crore.
Among other major bids, “Bajaur 1” was auctioned for Rs. 3.35 crore, while “Mohmand 1” went for Rs. 3.21 crore. “Mehsud 1” attracted a bid of Rs. 2.20 crore, and “Khyber 1” was sold for Rs. 2.01 crore. “Gujar 1” fetched Rs. 1.63 crore, and “Pashtun 1” was purchased for Rs. 1.32 crore.
Several plates were sold for amounts below one crore rupees. “Buner 1” went for Rs. 9.5 million, “Jadoon 1” for Rs. 7.1 million, “Mardan 1” for Rs. 6.8 million, “Dir 1” for Rs. 6.7 million, “Khalil 1” for Rs. 6.5 million, and “Khattak 1” for Rs. 6.1 million.
Other notable sales included “Kohat 1” at Rs. 4.3 million, “Taj 1” at Rs. 4.2 million, “Syed 1” at Rs. 3.3 million, “Swat 1” at Rs. 3.0 million, “Sheikh 1” at Rs. 2.7 million, “Marwat 1” at Rs. 2.6 million, “Kulachi 1” at Rs. 2.5 million, and “Abbottabad 1” at Rs. 1.7 million.
Officials said the strong response reflects growing public interest in premium vehicle registration numbers and indicated that similar auctions are expected to be organized in the future.
