KP Government Starts Renovation Work on Mughal Era’s Mosque
The famous Mohabat Khan Mosque was constructed during the Mughal Empire, and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has begun preservation work to restore its original white architecture.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Archaeology Department, which was established and is named after the Mughal governor of Peshawar, Nawab Mohabat Khan, has begun preservation and reconstruction work to improve the architecture from the Mughal and early Islamic periods.
The mosque’s white marble front is regarded as one of Peshawar’s most recognisable sites. It was constructed in 1630 close to the famous Yadgar Chowk on 30,155 square feet at a prime location in Peshawar City.

Along with Mughal architecture admirers from overseas, its white marble architecture is drawing tourists, archaeologists, historians, and architects from all over the country.
On the historical site at Hund Swabi, where Alexander the Great crossed the Indus River in 327 BC, the government built a museum. The invasion of Mehmood Ghaznavi in 998, which signaled the start of the Islamic era in the area, is another reason for Hund’s fame.
The KP government is nearly finished building two new museums in DI Khan and Abbottabad, where old artifacts illuminating the local culture will be shown following Eid-ul-Fitr. Moreover, two additional museums in Kohat and Haripur are in the works.
