KP Government to Introduce ADCs to Facilitate Tax Payers
Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and 1-Link have signed a tripartite agreement for the collection of government taxes using Alternative Delivery Channels (ADCs) in an attempt to facilitate taxpayers and streamline the tax payment system.

The ADCs will enable taxpayers in the province to submit their taxes, primarily sales tax on services, immediately from their cell phones, laptops and ATMs; thus, relieving them from personally visiting approved banks.
The deal was inked at the KP Finance Department on Tuesday at the Civil Secretariat, Peshawar. KP Finance Minister Taimur Khan Jhagra, KP Spokesman Kamran Khan Bangash, KP Chief Secretary Dr Kazim Niaz, KP Secretary Finance Atif Rehman and KPRA Director General Fayyaz Ali Shah and key officials of the provincial government attended the occasion.

Addressing at the event the finance minister said that the province administration has been trying its best to help the taxpayers and streamline the system through digitalisation. “Citizens do not have to go to any office or bank for making payments to the government. It will save time and limit the practise of bribery,” he continued.
Commenting about the importance of revenue growth for the public, the minister stated that growth in revenue collection will enable the provincial government to continue public uplift initiatives like the Sehat Insaf Card and launch more such projects for the wellness of citizens.
“Governments operate on money. We shall be able to take huge decisions for the elevation of our public like developed countries if our revenue generation is robust,” he remarked.
