KP Minister Stresses Implementation of Rules of Land-Use
Mr. Faisal Amin Gandapur, provincial minister for local government and rural development, has instructed the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) to ensure the implementation of land-use and building control regulations in order to ensure the success and environmental friendliness of housing projects.

During a briefing on land use and building rules of PDA, the minister noted that The PDA is restricted to meet environmental criteria, including open spaces within and outside residential and commercial structures to ensure a clean and healthy environment for the people.
According to the sources, the Secretary of the Local Government Department, Mr. Shakeel Ahmed Mian, was present at the event, and the Additional Director General of the PDA, Engr. Ijaz Afzal, discussed the land use and building regulations in effect in townships. Mr. Faisal Amin Gandapur noted that suitable parking facilities were required in all buildings adjacent to the wide roads and streets in order to effectively minimize traffic concerns.

He also highlighted that the adoption of contemporary technologies will make urban development easier and more convenient and that all the Urban Development Authorities in the province, including the PDA, had formulated and executed clear building codes, rules, and regulations.
