KP’s Caretaker Govt Approves Key Initiatives and Projects
PESHAWAR: During its ninth cabinet meeting, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) caretaker government approved a number of big initiatives and projects, which is a significant development.
The conference, which was presided over by Chief Minister Muhammad Azam Khan, saw the approval of numerous significant choices meant to improve various sectors within the province.
Peshawar Safe City Project Gets Boost with Project Management Unit (PMU)
The creation of a specific Project Management Unit (PMU) for the Peshawar Safe City Project was one of the major approvals that attracted attention.
This plan aims to improve security and surveillance in Peshawar with an enhanced budget allocation of Rs. 262.56 million for the fiscal year 2023–2024.
De-radicalization and Rehabilitation Facilities Greenlit for Merged Districts
The amended PC-1 for facilities for de-radicalization and rehabilitation in the combined districts was also approved by the cabinet, demonstrating the commitment of the administration to fostering peace and stability in the area.
Key Measures for Prisoner Management and Juvenile System
The transfer of a prisoner from Peshawar Jail to Rawalpindi was also approved by the cabinet, and the Home Secretary was given permission to transfer prisoners in the future.
The Juvenile System Rules 2022, which improve the juvenile justice system even further, were also approved by the cabinet.
Solarization of Agricultural Tube Wells and Educational Institution Revisions
The cabinet recently unveiled plans to solarize about 28,000 agricultural tube wells, a ground-breaking move that will benefit both farmers and the environment.
Education institutions also underwent changes, with the Bacha Khan Model School in Pabbi Nowshera operating under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Educational and Training Institutions Ordinance 1971 and the Political Agent Public School in Kalaya town, Orakzai district, being transferred to the Frontier Constabulary.
Strategic Approvals and Future Investments
The KPK caretaker cabinet demonstrated a forward-thinking attitude by updating the province’s internet policy.
The government made a crucial financial decision by allowing the KP Board of Investment and Trade to use $332 million from the Dubai Expo earnings for necessary expenses.
