Following weeks of preparation, Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi said that Lahore finally experienced artificial rain on Saturday.
According to the caretaker chief meteorologist (CM) at a press briefing, the artificial rain project, which is being executed in collaboration with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), would contribute to better city air quality.
According to him, 48 flares were shot from an aircraft, and about ten areas of Lahore witnessed artificial rain.
The caretaker chief maintenance officer praised the UAE team, who coordinated the rain. Two planes from the United Arab Emirates landed in Pakistan around two weeks ago, according to Naqvi.
Since the government had not issued a warning, the rain surprised everyone in Lahore. Also, social media users shared footage of the first artificial rain on their accounts.
The government is observing the impacts of the artificial rain. It is expected that the artificial rain will improve the air quality of Lahore.
