A passenger train accident at Raiwind Railway Station on Monday left four people with minor injuries. The incident took place when the Lahore-Multan Musa Pak Express went off the track. According to railway sources, the train’s engine and two bogies derailed, and initial reports suggest the cause was a brake failure.
The injured passengers were taken to THQ Hospital for treatment, while railway staff quickly worked to manage the situation. Operations on the affected track were stopped immediately, and rescue teams used a crane to remove the damaged engine. A replacement engine was arranged to carry the remaining bogies to Multan so that passengers could continue their journey.
Railway officials said that repair and restoration work on the service track at Raiwind is still in progress. The authorities are also looking into the cause of the brake failure to prevent such accidents in the future. This incident has once again raised concerns about railway safety and maintenance in Pakistan.
