The Punjab government has unveiled a comprehensive traffic management plan ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season X matches in Lahore, aiming to minimize disruption as the city hosts a series of high-profile cricket games. With Lahore gearing up to host several key fixtures, including the grand finale on May 18, authorities are taking strategic steps to ensure a balance between daily life and the city’s passion for cricket.
All PSL matches in Lahore are scheduled as day-night encounters, kicking off at 7:00 PM. This has raised concerns about traffic congestion, particularly around school hours and match timings. To address these challenges, the provincial administration has announced revised school hours for institutions near Gaddafi Stadium, effective from April 24 to May 18. Schools will now operate from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM during this period, helping to streamline traffic flow and avoid overlapping congestion.

Despite the proximity of the stadium to major traffic routes, the government has assured that Lahore’s main roads—including Mall Road, Canal Road, Jail Road, Main Boulevard, and Gulberg Road—will remain open throughout the PSL season. Any road closures will be brief and only implemented for secure and timely team movements between their accommodations and the stadium.
Lahore’s hosting duties will officially begin on April 24, with a thrilling clash between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi. Gaddafi Stadium is set to be the epicenter of cricket excitement, with a large share of the 34 PSL X matches taking place there.
This proactive traffic strategy reflects a coordinated effort between city officials, security planners, and educational institutions to ensure that Lahore’s daily routines are not heavily impacted by the cricketing festivities. As the city prepares to welcome thousands of fans, smooth logistics and public cooperation will be crucial in delivering a successful and seamless PSL experience.
