Land for Gujrat Industrial Estate Alongside Upper Jhelum Canal
According to news sources from Lahore, the Punjab government has identified 200 acres of land along the Upper Jhelum Canal for the construction of Gujrat Industrial Estate Phase II.
The FBR will freeze the bank accounts of non-taxpayers without prior notification.
The villages of Saroki, Chak Qazian, and Sheikh Qureshian are allegedly located close to the indicated property.
In this regard, the Planning and Development (P&D) Department has received a report for preliminary consideration. However, the Provincial Development Working Group will provide final approval to the PKR 1.3 billion industrial project (PDWP).
According to the details, both the Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GtCCI) and the Federal Minister for Water Resources, Chaudhry Moonis Elahi, have urged the construction of the second phase of the project.
The industrial estate will be erected during the following two years, with industrial plots ranging in size from 1 to 10 marla to 2 to 4 Kanals. However, the government has not yet established the cost of the plots.
The project was designed in 1992 at a different location but was never completed due to legal problems and land acquisition difficulties. In response to GtCCI’s request, the government has amended its stance on the project.
