Launch of Orange Line Metro to Islamabad Airport Issues
Announcement regarding further delays in the launch of the Islamabad Orange Line
ISLAMABAD, July 18, 2022- The formal launch of the Islamabad Orange Line Bus Service is facing delays due to unfortunate circumstances.
Due to certain interferences, the government has suffered a significant loss in subsidies. Islamabad’s city council decided to redirect the 15 orange line buses to the recently inaugurated blue and green lines. It was reported that the launch will be further delayed since the infrastructure contractor has not yet completed the testing of the elevators, escalators, and automatic glass doors. Currently, none of these bus station components are operational. Additionally, the Capital Development Authority has changed the Airport Metro Bus service’s schedule. Business disputes between the operators of the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro bus service and the airport metro have been cited as the cause of this.
