LAHORE: In a number of the city’s neighborhoods, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has adopted a stern stance against unauthorized commercialization and building code violations.
Over a dozen structures were either demolished or sealed during an operation directed by Director of Town Planning IV, Ali Nusrat, with help from the Police and large machinery in places including Johar Town, Wapda Town, OPF Scheme, and PIA Colony.
The operation was primarily concerned with stopping illegal building, alteration, and commercial activity that broke city ordinances.

According to the information provided, the LDA crews carried out the operation by removing shutters, making adjustments, and demolishing unlawful constructions before sealing a number of properties in Johar Town and the surrounding areas.
The following buildings were targeted and either destroyed or sealed:
- An illegally constructed hall on 180F and 181F in PIA Colony,
- Unauthorized shades of a tea shop on 3R,
- Shops adjacent to Al-Barkat Pharmacy,
- Illegal constructions on plots 528J, 529J, 336G, 461G3,
- Marquee on plots 53 and 53 A in F2,
- Shops on plots 432E and 1005E in Johar Town,
- Properties situated on plots 13 and 14 in Block E,
- Construction on Plot 78C in Wapda Town,
- Construction Plot 276C in the OPF Scheme.
LDA officials emphasised that several notices were sent to property owners to resolve the issues before to the operation.
Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the Director General of LDA, has reaffirmed his commitment to carrying out such operations to stop illicit commercial activity and building code violations in the city.
