Leh Expressway Length Cut Short by Nearly Half
The government has nearly halved the intended length of the Leh Expressway, which should cut the anticipated cost of the project.
According to the reports, a new design has decreased the length of the Leh Expressway project from 37 kilometers to 20 kilometers. Instead of Sawan River, the project will begin at Jhanda Chichi Nullah Leh Bridge near Ammar Chowk and extend to IJP Road in Islamabad, where it will be signal-free and include service lanes.
According to the new plan, no additional land would be purchased for the construction of the Leh Expressway than was previously designated.
According to the new plan, the entire depth of the Leh Expressway will be increased by 8 meters to a total of 11,5 meters, while its minimum width would range from 25 to 35 meters. From the Sawan River to Ammar Chowk, the highway will include a 15-foot-wide carriageway on both sides protected by barriers against the entrance of pedestrians and animals.

Tariq Murtaza, chairman of the Rawalpindi Development Authority, informed the authorities that the Leh Expressway is a game-changing project for Rawalpindi that will generate new employment possibilities.
He stated that the area on both sides of the motorway would be designated as commercial and eight-story structures would be permitted.
