LPG Prices Surge Following Temporary Closure of Pakistan-Iran Border

The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Quetta has gone up by Rs120 per kilogram after the Pak-Iran border was closed. Before the closure, LPG was selling for Rs280 per kg. Now, it costs between Rs360 and Rs400 per kg. People in Quetta say this sudden price rise is making life harder for them.

LPG dealers say the increase happened because the supply has dropped due to the border closure. A local seller explained, “The LPG supply has been badly affected, and that’s why prices are going up.”

This problem isn’t just in Quetta. People in other areas of Balochistan are also seeing price hikes for LPG and other daily-use items. Local shopkeepers and transporters are upset and say that the ongoing issues at the border are hurting trade, causing shortages, and making the region’s economy suffer.
