Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) has been ranked as the top Pakistani university in several subject areas in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026.
The university stands out as the leading business school in Pakistan and is among the few institutions from the country placed in the 101–150 global band in a subject category, marking an important achievement for higher education in Pakistan.
The rankings highlight LUMS’ strong performance in areas such as Business and Management, Accounting and Finance, and Social Sciences, where it is the highest-ranked Pakistani institution. It also shares the top position in Economics among universities in the country. In addition, the university has shown growing strength in Modern Languages and Politics, reflecting the quality of its humanities and social sciences programs.
QS subject rankings are based on factors such as academic reputation, employer reputation, research impact, and international collaboration. LUMS’ performance reflects the strength of its faculty, research output, and academic standards.
More than 35 Pakistani universities are included in this year’s rankings, showing overall progress in the country’s higher education sector. However, the rankings also highlight the need for continued investment in quality education, research, and accessibility to support further growth.
