LWMC Gets LHC Notice on Contractor’s Refund Appeal
The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has been informed by the High Court of Lahore that Al-Bayrak, the previous Turkish agreement, has filed a petition to have its protection number refunded.
The contractor claimed that LWMC had rejected its request for a second waste disposal contract and had even taken back the security deposit it had made when the contract was granted.
Following the transaction, it commanded the court to order the respondent to pay the petitioner’s security deposit.
Through attorney Sheraz Zaka, Usman Khan filed a petition alleging that the city’s air pollution and garbage lying in open spaces caused it to rank as the second most polluted city in the world.
He claimed that the LWMC and other authorities did not uphold their legal duties.
According to the petitioner, the current level of the rising air pollution justifies the need for a warning to be issued.
He claims that the burning of trash and piles of garbage left in almost all areas of the city, including Faisal Town, Allama Iqbal Town, Gulberg, and Samanabad, has further exacerbated pollution.
