Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly received Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Wednesday as he arrived in Pakistan for a three-day official visit. Upon his arrival at Islamabad International Airport, children outfitted in traditional clothes presented flowers to the Malaysian leader. A static guard of honor by the Pakistan Army was given, accompanied by a 21-gun salute in a gesture of respect and friendship.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with other federal cabinet members, were attending to receive the Malaysian Prime Minister. He is visiting Pakistan with a high-level delegation, and he will hold important meetings with Pakistan’s leadership during his stay. This visit will take place at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The plan for the three-day official visit contains discussions on improving Pakistan-Malaysia relations in various sectors such as trade, energy, connectivity, agriculture, halal industry, tourism, and cultural exchanges. Both sides will also concentrate on improving people-to-people connections, which are necessary for strengthening ties. Additionally, they will discuss regional and global matters of mutual interest.
The Foreign Office earlier mentioned that Pakistan and Malaysia have deep-rooted bilateral relations based on shared history, culture, and faith. The visit of the Malaysian PM is seen as an immaculate opportunity to deepen cooperation in areas like trade and tourism and strengthen diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Furthermore, the leaders will explore new opportunities in the energy sector, which remains a crucial area for mutual collaboration.
