After starting trade at 280 in the interbank market, the value of the Pakistani rupee remained steady vs the US dollar today.
It was mostly steady vs the greenback throughout today’s intraday trading, moving between 279 and 280.
The interbank rate closed at 279, where it had remained for the majority of the day. Today’s open market rates were between $279 and $280 at several currency counters.
The PKR stayed steady at the close, ending the day at 279.31 versus the US dollar.
To already in the current fiscal year, the rupee has gained 2.37 percent.

The rupee has decreased overall since January 2023 by around Rs. 60. It has decreased by more than Rs. 107 versus the US dollar since April 2022. PKR reported no change in the exchange rates as of today.
Against the majority of the other major currencies in the interbank market today, the PKR was up. It gained Rs. 1.96 against the Euro (EUR), Rs. 1.32 against the Australian Dollar (AUD), and remained steady against the Saudi Riyal (SAR) and the UAE Dirham (AED).
In today’s interbank currency market, it gained Rs. 1.6 versus the Canadian Dollar (CAD) and Rs. 2.9 versus the British Pound (GBP).
