A massive fire broke out at a tyre warehouse in Karachi’s Mawach Goth area on Thursday, which has so far proven difficult to control.
According to officials, the fire has been declared a third-degree blaze, with fourteen fire tenders actively engaged in firefighting operations. The blaze has been raging for more than three hours, and teams are now demolishing boundary walls to prevent the flames from spreading further.
Firefighters are battling the blaze from three different sides, but strong winds have intensified the fire, making containment efforts challenging.
Chief Fire Officer Humayun Khan confirmed that 14 fire tenders and multiple water tankers from the Karachi Water Board are currently on-site. He added that the high winds continue to hinder operations, though efforts are ongoing to protect nearby structures and bring the situation under control.
Officials warned that it may take several more hours before the fire is fully extinguished.
