The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) will remain closed on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in observance of Youm-e-Takbeer, marking the anniversary of Pakistan’s nuclear tests.
According to an official notice issued by the PSX, the closure is in line with the public holiday declared by the Government of Pakistan to commemorate the country’s historic 1998 nuclear tests.
“All concerned are hereby informed that the Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited will remain closed on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, being a public holiday on the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer,” the statement read.

Youm-e-Takbeer is observed annually to celebrate Pakistan’s emergence as the world’s seventh nuclear power and the first Muslim-majority nation with nuclear capability, following successful tests conducted in Chaghi, Balochistan.
