The original exam was declared invalid by the Sindh High Court (SHC) on October 26, 2024, for serious irregularities, including a paper leak that occurred just hours before the test. This retest comes after his ruling. The SHC ordered the provincial authorities to perform a new examination in accordance with the norms set forth by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
Along with a legitimate form of identification, such as a passport, CNIC, proof of residency, or a photo-bearing marks sheet, candidates must produce their admit cards. Several test centres will be established in Karachi to prevent crowding, with extra sites in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas, and Larkana.
In order to meet the expenses of Rs. 6,000 per candidate, the Sindh government has set aside Rs. 232.14 million for the retake. With the help of Dow University, PMDC, and provincial authorities, this project seeks to accommodate more than 38,000 registered candidates. When the first MDCAT was administered by Dow University, 22,366 candidates passed, yielding a success rate of 58.79%.
