Microsoft to Start Testing Windows 12 Already

Microsoft is updating its Windows Insiders Preview program in a fundamental way, which could portend big news in the future.

Microsoft will test Windows OS releases that will lay the foundation for a new major edition of the operating system using its recently launched Canary Channel, according to the company’s official blog and a report from Windows Central.

Often released experimental and unstable releases from the Canary Channel could serve as the starting point for Windows 12.

The channel is intended for testing new APIs, significant changes to the Windows kernel, and other features that require a longer testing period before being made available to the general public. It’s crucial to remember that not every tested feature will be made available to the general public.

Since the Dev Channel will be receiving 23000 series builds, all Insiders there will be transferred to the Canary Channel. Those who want to stay in the Dev Channel will need to reinstall their Windows operating system because the Canary Channel will be receiving 25000 series builds concurrently.

There have been a few leaks and rumours regarding Windows 12. One of the facts that was released suggests that the upcoming Intel CPUs would support Windows 12.

A new version of the Windows OS would reportedly be released every three years under a new engineering plan that Microsoft will implement.

The next operating system, which may go by the name “Next Valley,” may be the first cloud-based OS. An graphic of the new operating system, showing what appears to be a design that adapts to numerous devices and accessories, was unveiled at Ignite 2022.

There isn’t much information available about the future OS outside the unsettling most recent rumour. Future builds from the Canary Channel should offer further information about Windows 12.
