Ministry of Industries Requested for a Grant of Rs. 2 Billion
The Ministry of Industries and Manufacture, according to the most current report, has lately requested an additional Rs 2 billion for the subsidy on its gas supplies as for the production of 0.7 million tonnes of urea from 2 urea plants on the SNGPL system in Pakistan.

According to official sources, the Fertilizer Review Committee met in February 2021, with Hammad Azhar, the Minister of Industries and Production, serving as its chairman. However, it was noted during the meeting that the country will be facing a shortage of about 370,000MT in the coming months, starting in the month of December.

According to the official records, two options were considered in the meeting that illustrate the relevance of the import or production from the SNGPL based urea plants in order to emphasize the issue of this shortage and also keep the buffer stocks as over 200,000MT during 2021.
