Mild earthquake tremors were felt in Sibi district on Wednesday morning, causing brief concern among residents, though no damage has been reported. According to the National Seismic Center, the quake measured 4.0 on the Richter scale.
The epicenter was located about 50 kilometers southwest of Sibi at a depth of 10 kilometers. Experts say shallow quakes are usually felt more noticeably on the surface, even if they are not strong enough to cause major damage.
Authorities noted that the tremors were short but clearly felt in several parts of the district. No injuries or structural losses have been confirmed. Local disaster management teams are monitoring the situation and remain on alert, as minor aftershocks may still occur.
