Motorola has shared the first teaser for its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Moto X70 Air, which is being positioned as a direct rival to Apple’s rumored iPhone Air and Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge. The new device is expected to launch at the end of October and is being promoted with the tagline “as light as Air, even lighter and more AI.”

The teaser, posted on Weibo, shows the Moto X70 Air’s slim profile and bold design. It features a green frame paired with orange camera accents, hinting at Motorola’s focus on both style and performance.

Reports suggest the Moto X70 Air will be one of the company’s thinnest smartphones yet, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. This puts the device firmly in the flagship category, alongside Motorola’s recent high-end models like the Razr 60 Ultra and Edge 60, which emphasized AI-driven features.

Industry analysts see the Moto X70 Air as Motorola’s attempt to challenge both Apple and Samsung in the growing ultra-thin premium smartphone market. With design and AI features at the center of its marketing, the phone appears to target users looking for both elegance and cutting-edge technology.

However, there is a key question about availability. Motorola’s X series has so far been limited to China, and it is not yet clear if the Moto X70 Air will see a global release. Rumors suggest the phone could reappear under the Motorola Edge 70 branding for international markets, following the company’s strategy of offering its most premium devices to a wider audience.
