The Directorate General of Trade Organisations (DGTO) has appointed Muhammad Arif Ullah, Director at the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), as the Administrator of the Rawalpindi Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RWCCI).
According to an official notification, the appointment has taken immediate effect and places RWCCI under administrative control for a period of six months.
During this time, Muhammad Arif Ullah will take charge of all records, assets, and financial matters of the Chamber. The DGTO said the move is aimed at improving governance, strengthening financial systems, and ensuring full compliance with the Trade Organizations Rules, 2013.
The Administrator has been assigned the responsibility to review RWCCI’s governance structure and introduce necessary reforms. This includes upgrading financial and administrative procedures, shifting to bank-linked financial mechanisms, and conducting a detailed financial audit to address any pending or outstanding issues.
Officials said special focus will be placed on transparency, accountability, and proper documentation of financial transactions. The DGTO also directed that the Chamber must operate from a compliant office space during the administrative period.
The six-month tenure will conclude with fresh elections for the Executive Committee. The elections will be conducted under the Trade Organizations Rules, 2013, ensuring 50 percent corporate representation and implementation of cooling-off requirements.
Progress reports will be submitted regularly to the DGTO throughout the administrative period. Once elections are completed, control of the Chamber will be handed over to the newly elected Executive Committee.
The appointment is seen as a regulatory step to streamline RWCCI’s operations and strengthen institutional governance within the Chamber.
