Multan Sultans have officially been eliminated from the race for the PSL 10 playoffs following a string of poor performances and a crushing defeat at the hands of Karachi Kings. The franchise, led by captain Mohammad Rizwan, failed to find consistency throughout the tournament and ultimately paid the price with an early exit.

After suffering a heavy 87-run loss in their must-win encounter against Karachi Kings, Rizwan confirmed that the team’s hopes of advancing were now over. Reflecting on the campaign, the skipper admitted that the Sultans lost momentum at critical stages and continued making the same mistakes, which proved costly in the fast-paced T20 format.

The Sultans had a tough start to PSL 10, losing their opening match to the Kings by four wickets. The struggles continued with defeats against Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi before they managed to register their first win against Lahore Qalandars. However, the win did not mark a turning point, as Multan went on to lose their next four matches, ultimately sealing their fate in the competition.

Rizwan’s candid admission points to a need for reflection and restructuring within the team ahead of the next season. With their elimination, the playoff picture becomes clearer for the remaining franchises, while the Sultans are left to regroup and analyze what went wrong in their PSL 10 journey.

Multan Sultans, once considered title contenders, now bow out of the tournament with only one win to their name and several unanswered questions as they look ahead to future editions of the Pakistan Super League.
