Muharram 2023 Holidays on 28 and 29 July in Pakistan
The Muharram crescent was not seen yesterday, according to the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. As a result, on Saturday, July 29, the nation will mark Youm-e-Ashur, the 10th of Muharram.
For Muslims around the world, Muharram has great historical and religious significance. The Hijri year 1445 will begin on this day as the first month of the Islamic lunar calendar.

Muslims commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA), the beloved grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), at the Battle of Karbala, at this time period with a sense of solemnity.
On the occasion of the 9th and 10th of Muharram, the government is likely to announce two holidays on July 28 and 29 (Friday and Saturday), allowing believers to take part in religious observances and processions around the country.
The decision on the moon sighting was taken during an important meeting presided over by Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, the chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, in Quetta.
Distinguished members of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, representatives from the Ministries of Religious Affairs, Meteorology, and SUPARCO, and representatives from the Ministries of Science and Technology attended the event.

In order to confirm the sighting of the Muharram crescent, provincial and district moon sighting committees met simultaneously at their respective offices.
